When to perform sajdah al-tilawah if recited in salah

Question:

When should Sajdah al-Tilawah be performed if it is recited in Salah?

Answer:

If a verse which implies a sajdah was recited in salah, then sajdah al-tilawah becomes necessary immediately (within salah); it cannot be delayed. Such that if it was delayed to the extent of reciting 2/3 verses, then that person shall be sinful. It is also better and preferred to perform sajdah immediately, if such a verse was recited outside of salah, when there is no valid excuse. Thus, the ‘ulama have stated that it is makruh tanzihi to delay the sajdah in such a case.
