Question:

If a funeral is brought to the mosque as the time for Zuhr has begun but the Jama’a of Zuhr is to be held after some time, should the funeral prayer be offered before the Zuhr Jama’a or after it?

Answer:

If there is plenty of time to offer the Zuhr prayer, then the funeral prayer should be offered first. If the relatives, family and friends of the deceased are going to stay in the mosque  for  Zuhr  prayer  even  if  the  funeral  prayer  is offered, then it is better to perform the funeral prayer after the Zuhr Jama’a.
