Is wudu required to read qur’anic verses found in literature or newspapers?

Question:

If an urdu book or a newspaper contains a few verses of the Qur’an, is one allowed to touch or read the verses without being in the state of purification?

 Answer:

Whether it is a book or newspaper, it is unlawful to touch the area on the page where the verses of the Qur’an are written without wudu. This includes the other side of the page as well.

There is no problem with touching other pages or reading the verses without being in the state of purity, however if one is in need of having a bath (ghusl) than it is haram to touch or read the verses.

And Allah ﷻ knows the best
