Question:

What do the expert scholars of shari’ah say: In the funeral prayer, should the closing Salam be made prior to unfolding one’s hands or after it?

Answer:

Folding the arms is the Sunna of that Qiyam in which there is recitation. The Salam is at the time of exiting Salah and there is no need to have one’s hands folded at that time. Therefore, after the fourth Takbir is proclaimed, the arms should be unfolded and thereafter the Salam be proclaimed.
