Finding out after marriage that the couple had a mutual wet-nurse

Question:

What do the scholars and experts of shari’ah say about my situation? I married 15 years ago, my wife was from my extended family and we now also have children. Recently, I discovered that there was a woman who was a wet-nurse for myself and three years later for my wife. She nursed her well over 20 times. The wet-nurse passed away some time ago however there are many people who testify that myself and my wife were nursed by this woman within our feeding period as babies.  I am certain that this is the case, and we were both nursed over five times.

Answer:

Based on the scenario which has been presented, the nikah between the husband and wife was not valid. It is necessary for the husband to divorce and separate from his wife. If they refuse to do so, and the judge has clear evidence that they were both nursed by the same woman, it will be necessary for the judge to enforce their separation.

And Allah ﷻ knows the best
