Question:

What is the ruling of eating anything before the Eid- ul-Adha prayer?

Answer:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not eat anything before the Eid al-Adha prayer but would eat afterwards, as narrated by Imam Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah from Hadhrat Buraydah. It is mustahab to act upon this. However, no harm is caused if someone ate before the prayer.
