Arranging the rows in a funeral prayer

Question:

What do the experts and scholar of shari’ah say in regards to the following scenario? If there are only five people offering the funeral prayer (excluding the Imam), in order to create three rows, it is permissible to make the first two rows consisting of two people and the third row consisting of only one person?

Answer:

So long as in each row, there are two/three people standing, that will be considered as a row. As a funeral prayer is slightly different from the obligatory  daily prayers, the same conditions of Jama’a do not apply.

And Allah ﷻ knows the best
